The Nintendo DS (sometimes abbreviated NDS or DS) is a handheld game console developed and manufactured by Nintendo, which was released in 2004 in Canada, U.S., and Japan. The console features a clamshell design, similar to the Game Boy Advance SP, with two LCD screens inside - one of which is a touchscreen. The Nintendo DS also features a built-in microphone and supports wireless IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) standards, allowing players to interact with each other within short range (10–30 m, depending on conditions) or online with the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. This was the first Nintendo game console to be released in North America prior to Japan.

Sony announced that its Eye camera/microphone accessory for the PlayStation 3 will be hitting store shelves this summer. The Eye comes as a follow up to Sony's EyeToy, which was released for the Playstation 2. The Eye features a USB camera that can record up to 120 frames per second with a resolutions of 320 by 240, or at 60 fps at VGA resolution. According to Sony, these frame rates will ensure smooth footage, and we'd tend to agree, though we'd love to see a higher pixel count, something in the HD range. The camera also features a low-light option and a two position zoom lens that can capture close-ups and wider-angle full body shots.

According to reports, the interactive, VGA cam will be heading out to stores bundled with Hasrbo's RPG / card game The Eye of Judgment on October 23rd, for the shockingly low price of $69.99.

Hitachi has released the two camcorders that burn directly to Blu-ray disc. Both the DZ-BD7HA and the DZ-BD70A can record up to one hour of 1920x1080 Full HD video onto an 8cm Blu-ray Disc. The DZ-BD7HA is a hybrid, with the added benefit of a 30GB hard drive that can hold up to 4 hours of full HD video.

The cameras can capture and store 4.32-megapixel images to an SD card slot, and can grab any still frame of video and save it as a photo to the SD card slot at a 2-megapixel resolution. Both models allow video to be recorded in standard definition quality to DVD discs, but with its 30GB hard drive, the DZ-BD7HA also offers basic in-camera editing functions before burning to Blu-ray.

Both the DZ-BD7HA and the DZ-BD70A will be available around October 2007. The DZ-BD70A will retail at $1,300 and the DZ-BD7HA is priced at a $1,500.
